Unlike some internet Moroccan rug traders the Houseofberber.com & Maisoneberbere.co.cc (Our French site) is a genuine rug weaver with our own weaving Co-Operative premises. We do not show pictures of rug warehouses which we don't own or quote items as in stock which we don't have. Customers are more than welcome to visit our weaving house in south of Morocco place call Sidi Moktar to view the rugs on our site & our Expert Weavers. For centuries the tribal people of Morocco's Atlas Mountains have passed down the delicate art of rug weaving. In Northern Africa rugs are not only a practical asset to the home, but they are an integral part of the culture.
Hand-knotted rugs are the preferred gift of people of high social rank, and are also a traditional wedding gift. This exquisite design features traditional tribal patterns. We have purpose built site with 6 weaving hand looms with 7 ladies hand Knotting & Weaving these fine rugs. This art of fine weaving being hand down from generation to generation.We have formed a Co-Operative based on fair and ethical trade principal, where by all our workers are looked after and not exploited like local traders in their own country. We are also supporting a local charity Association Farha by pledging 10% of our sell from this site. This truly reflects in our commitments to local social cohesion and welfare of deprived communities.
We can made to measure any rugs in 100% Wool from .50 Mtr width to 6 Mtr width and any length in these fine rugs. Please feel free to conatct us how we can help and make any made to measure rugs, in our collection for you in our own Co-Operative Weaving house in Sidi Moktar, Morocco.
